Privacy notice
1. Scope
This notice explains how Westwarren Trading handles personal information in connection with this website and with commercial enquiries sent to us. It applies to this website only. It does not form part of any sales contract.
2. This website sets no cookies
This website does not set cookies, does not use browser storage to identify you, and does not run analytics, advertising, session-recording or fingerprinting scripts. No third-party tracking service receives data about your visit.
Because nothing is tracked, there is no consent banner and no preference for you to manage. If that changes in future, this notice will be updated before any tracking is introduced.
3. The request-for-quotation form
The quotation form on the contact page collects the details it displays: your company, your name, your email address, your country, and the commercial particulars of the requirement — division, product and grade, quantity, delivery term, destination, delivery window and preferred payment terms.
We use those details to respond to the enquiry, to prepare an offer, and to carry out the counterparty checks described below. The form does not set cookies, does not profile you, and is not connected to any advertising or analytics service.
4. Information you send us by email
When you email one of our desks, we receive whatever you include — typically your name, your company, your contact details and the commercial details of your requirement. We use that information to respond to your enquiry, to prepare offers and contracts, to arrange inspection and shipping, and to meet legal and regulatory obligations that apply to international trade.
We also carry out counterparty and restricted-party screening before quoting. That may involve checking the name of your organisation, and of the individuals authorised to contract on its behalf, against publicly available sanctions and restricted-party lists.
5. Legal bases
Where data protection law requires us to identify a legal basis, we rely on the performance of a contract or the steps leading to one, our legitimate interest in operating a trading business and assessing counterparties, and compliance with legal obligations including sanctions, customs and anti-money-laundering requirements.
6. Sharing
To execute a trade we may need to pass relevant details to third parties: suppliers and producers, inspection and surveying companies, freight forwarders, shipping lines and carriers, customs brokers, insurers, and banks handling documentary credits. We share only what the recipient needs for that specific role.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising or marketing purposes.
7. International transfers
International trade is by nature cross-border. Information relating to a shipment will normally be handled in the country of origin, the country of destination and any country of transit, as well as in the United Arab Emirates. Where we transfer information we do so only as far as necessary to perform the trade or to meet a legal obligation.
8. Retention
Enquiry correspondence is retained while the enquiry is live and for a reasonable period afterwards in case it is revived. Records relating to concluded transactions — contracts, certificates, shipping and customs documents, and screening records — are retained for as long as commercial, tax, customs and sanctions record-keeping requirements demand.
9. Your requests
You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Write to [email protected] and describe the request. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we will explain if a legal retention requirement prevents deletion.
10. Security
This site is served over HTTPS and holds no database of visitors, accounts or submissions. Commercial correspondence is handled through business email and access is limited to the staff who need it. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed absolutely secure; please do not send us payment card details or other highly sensitive data by email.
11. Changes to this notice
If this notice changes materially — in particular if analytics, cookies or a server-side enquiry form are introduced — the revised notice will be published on this page before the change takes effect.
