Industrial Chemicals — representative imagery

Overview

We supply the base inorganic and commodity organic chemicals used in water treatment, food and beverage, textiles, detergents, metals, oil and gas and general manufacturing: caustic soda in flake, pearl and lye form, soda ash light and dense, sulphuric and hydrochloric acid, hydrogen peroxide, sodium hypochlorite, methanol, calcium chloride and sodium bicarbonate. Each item is quoted against a written specification giving assay, principal impurities and, where relevant, the recognised grade standard the buyer works to.

Material is sourced from producers and licensed distributors. Every consignment carries a batch certificate of analysis, and third-party inspection with sampling and certificate of analysis at load point is arranged on request (SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek or a buyer-nominated surveyor). A current safety data sheet in GHS format is issued with the offer rather than after the order, so the buyer can confirm storage, material compatibility and licensing before committing.

Dangerous goods are booked under the correct proper shipping name, UN number, class and packing group, in UN-approved packaging within its certification period. Sea movements are declared under the IMDG Code and road movements under ADR or the equivalent national regulation, with segregation, placarding and emergency information prepared accordingly. ISO tank, IBC, drum and bagged options are quoted with their own lead times, because packaging availability often sets the shipment date rather than product availability.

Caustic Soda — Flake, Pearl and Lye

Sodium hydroxide in solid and solution form for chlor-alkali downstream use. Carbonate and chloride content, not assay alone, decide suitability for sensitive processes.

Soda Ash — Light and Dense

Sodium carbonate in light and dense grades. Dense grade is chosen for bulk handling and glass batching, light grade where fast dissolution matters.

Hydrogen Peroxide and Sodium Hypochlorite

Stabilised hydrogen peroxide at 35% and 50%, and sodium hypochlorite at 10–12% available chlorine. Both degrade in storage, so the shipment window is part of the specification.

Trade terms

How this division ships, and what travels with the cargo

Packaging & stowage

  • Dangerous goods move in UN-approved packaging within its certification validity. Drums, jerricans and IBCs carry the UN packaging code, and each package is filled within its permitted filling ratio with the correct headspace.
  • Vented closures are mandatory for hydrogen peroxide and sodium hypochlorite. Both evolve gas in storage and are never shipped in sealed, unvented containers.
  • Flexitanks are not used for dangerous goods. Liquid DG moves in ISO tanks, UN IBCs or UN drums, and tank containers are quoted with their last cargo record and cleaning certificate.
  • GHS marks and labels for supply and IMDG or ADR labels for transport are applied together, not interchangeably.
  • Hygroscopic solids are shipped in PE-lined or laminated bags with desiccant on humid transits, palletised and stretch-wrapped on ISPM 15 compliant timber.

Delivery terms

  • FOB — containers and tank containers loaded at the named port, with the dangerous goods booking and declaration completed before cut-off.
  • CFR — the usual basis for drummed and IBC cargo into GCC and African ports.
  • CIF — as CFR with marine cover; carriers apply DG surcharges and limited-acceptance rules that affect routing and transit time.
  • FCA — handover at a named terminal or licensed DG warehouse for buyers with their own freight arrangements.
  • DAP — delivered to a licensed chemical store, where the buyer holds the storage approvals for the class concerned.
  • DDP — offered selectively, because DG import clearance depends on local licensing that must genuinely be available to us.

Documentation

  • Commercial invoice and packing list with proper shipping name, UN number, class, packing group and net quantity per package
  • Safety data sheet in GHS format, in the language the destination requires
  • Certificate of analysis per batch, with the analytical method stated for each parameter
  • Shipper's declaration for dangerous goods and container packing certificate for sea consignments
  • Bill of lading endorsed with the DG particulars, or air waybill with the IATA DGR declaration
  • Certificate of origin, attested or legalised where the destination requires it
  • Tank container cleaning certificate and last-cargoes record for bulk liquids
  • Third-party inspection report covering sampling, sealing and quantity at load point
