How we work
Small desks, whole trades, visible consequences.
We are organised by division rather than by function, which means people follow a trade from origin qualification through to a discharged cargo instead of handling one stage of many deals. It is a faster way to learn the business and a harder place to hide a mistake.
Everything of consequence is written down. Specifications, inspection scopes, surveyor appointments, credit terms and document requirements all exist as documents before they exist as commitments. If you dislike writing things down precisely, this is not a comfortable place to work.
Declining business is part of the job and is treated as such. Nobody is measured on the number of enquiries they turn into offers, because the fastest way to damage a trading book is to quote something you cannot perform.

- Willingness to escalate early rather than manage a problem quietly
- Written English of professional standard
- Genuine curiosity about physical goods and how they move
- Language depth in a region we trade — an advantage, not a requirement
Experience level
We hire both experienced desk staff and people early in their careers. For a first role, sector experience matters less than demonstrable rigour — a technical, legal, agricultural, engineering or shipping background all transfer well.

We do not maintain a running list of vacancies on this page. Applications are read against these disciplines as they arrive, and we reply either way.
Trading & sourcing
Origin qualification, offer construction, position management and counterparty relationships within a single division.
You can read a specification sheet critically, and you would rather lose a margin point than misdescribe a grade.
Documentation & trade finance
Letters of credit, document set preparation, presentation, legalisation and discrepancy resolution.
You have read UCP 600 rather than heard about it, and you check a draft credit before it is issued.
Logistics & operations
Chartering support, container bookings, stowage and marking instructions, laycan management and demurrage tracking.
You know that the difference between FOB and FCA is operational, not cosmetic.
Quality & compliance
Specification libraries, surveyor appointment and scope, dangerous goods classification, screening and record keeping.
You are comfortable being the person who says a shipment is not ready to move.

Optional and disproportionately useful: a specification you wrote, a discrepancy you resolved, a problem you caught before it shipped.

We answer applications, including the unsuccessful ones. Silence is not a screening method.
